Mending Hearts

Helping hearts heal. Helping hope grow.

What is Mending Hearts?

Mending Hearts is a ministry of High Tide Church created to walk alongside individuals and families through seasons of loss, pain, crisis, and life’s difficult transitions. Through support groups, practical care, and compassionate community, we seek to remind people that they are not alone—and that God can bring healing, hope, restoration, and purpose from even the hardest circumstances.

Mending Hearts includes Pain to Purpose, Foster the Family, DivorceCare, GriefShare, Prodigals & Promises, and the Blessing Basket Ministry—each offering a unique way to care for hurting hearts and help people take their next step toward healing and hope.

Foster the Family

Foster the Family is a ministry offered through High Tide Church to support families welcoming children through foster, adoptive, or kinship care. When a child enters a new home, families can receive an Immediate Placement Package filled with clothing, hygiene and comfort items for the child, along with a meal for the family and an invitation into a caring network of support.

Support Group at HTC:

The Foster the Family Support Group meets on the first Monday of each month and is led by Jenelle Mears. This is a place for families to connect, share, encourage one another, and find support as they navigate the unique joys and challenges of foster and adoptive care. Child care is available at this monthly meeting.

Andrew’s Closet

A child often joins a family with little-to-no time for foster families to prepare for the child(ren) that enter their homes. Children come with very few, if any, personal items or clothing. This resource is a tangible way that FHC can assist families who are welcoming children for emergent, temporary, or long-term placements.

Upcoming Event

Family Hope 101
November 1 at HTC
1:30-3:30pm

Have you ever wondered what it looks like to live out the call in James to care for the orphan? For some, that calling means becoming a foster or adoptive parent. But that’s not the only way to make a lasting difference. Whether you’re exploring foster care or adoption yourself, wondering how you can support foster and adoptive families, or simply wanting to better understand the child welfare system, this class is for you!

The James 1:27 Fund

Bringing Families Together

The James 1:27 Fund reflects High Tide Church’s heart to care for vulnerable children and support families who are opening their homes through foster care and adoption. This fund provides financial support to HTC members pursuing adoption, helping remove some of the financial barriers that can stand between a child and a loving family.

James 1:27 reminds us that caring for orphans is at the heart of pure and genuine faith. When you give to the James 1:27 Fund, you are helping bring families together through adoption and making a tangible difference in the lives of children in our community.
